Adoption
Poetry
By Patricia Hartsfield
"WE WERENT THE
BAD GIRLS THAT THE PUBLIC MADE US OUT TO BE. THE MAJORITY
WERE OUR OWN FAMILY MEMBERS WHO WERE SO WORRIED ABOUT BEING
EMBARRASSED
THAT IS WHAT BROUGHT OUR LIVES SUCH TRADGEDY, AND PAIN THROUGH
THE YEARS.
(THOSE WERE OUR CHILDREN)
Where Is My
Mommy
A child in the womb, oh what have we done.
Nine months comes too soon, oh how will it be
This tiny life inside me, oh what will it see.
Will it have a great life, or face sorrow and woe,
after i have given birth to you oh where will you go.
Will you go to a family that surrounds you with love,
or a life full of trials and promises that never come true
. will you ever know i loved you and never wanted us to part,
or will anyone ever tell you just how much your leaving broke my
heart.
LOVE MOTHER
A One in a Million I knew you would be
This tiny little bundle I carry inside of me.
I think of a future so sunny and bright
I pray that strong arms will hold you each night
So tender and loving you'll grow up to be
But darling I'm afraid that's something I'll never see
To another you'll go as soon as you're here
I won't even see you smile, not even a tear
But one day when you grow up with your wisdom
And at your option your come to understand
Why we were separated by Adoption
